Eleanor is now 7 weeks and I'm just finally managing to get it together enough to actually start our planned blog. Chad has some vision for fancy blogging software he researched, but I realized that if I waited till I mastered it Eleanor would be 5 years before the first post. So I'm going low-tech till Chad can upgrade me.

This is really less of a blog and more of a place to share photos/ videos with our family and friends. I don't care for facebook -- plus it is beyond the McCarty Clan's technical capabilities -- so we'll be using this to share and to preserve a bit of Eleanor's early life. As a nerdy historian, I love the idea that this will preserve for Eleanor a record of how loved she has always been.

The amazing cross stich welcoming our tiny overlord Eleanor was made by Patrick Marks. This was his first cross stich endeavor, and it hangs over her crib. Pat and Amanda Schapel presented us with this treasure (and some incredible baby books) when they brought us over Tartine on Sunday, February 10th. When Eleanor is having a rough day, this provides me with a hearty laugh. She truly is our overlord.
